The Athletic Advantage of Yoga

The program kicks off by explaining the myriad benefits that yoga brings to athletes. From improved flexibility and strength to enhanced mental resilience, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of how yoga can complement their athletic pursuits.

Yoga for Flexibility and Mobility

Athletes engage in yoga sequences focused on increasing flexibility and joint mobility. These sessions help prevent injuries, reduce muscle soreness, and improve range of motion—critical factors for peak performance.

Strength and Core Stability

Specialized yoga poses and exercises are introduced to build functional strength and core stability. A strong core is fundamental to maintaining balance, power, and control in sports.

Breath Control and Endurance

Athletes learn pranayama (breath control) techniques that enhance lung capacity, increase oxygen intake, and improve overall endurance—a significant advantage in sports that require sustained effort.

Program

Morning Session:
  • 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM: Registration and Welcome Tea
  • 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM: Opening Ceremony and Introduction to Yoga and Mindfulness
  • 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Yoga Asana Practice for Mindfulness and Presence
  • 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Guided Mindfulness Meditation
Lunch Break:
  • 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Mindful Eating Lunch (Participants encouraged to eat in silence, savoring each bite mindfully)
Afternoon Session:
  • 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Breath Awareness and Conscious Breathing Techniques
